July's Drought
Plantain

In our Garden we lost our peas, beans, beets, carrots. and sunflowers. Only holding up is all of our squash and tomatoes. So far my Herb basket is still growing rosemary & in my butterfly packet dill is growing.
So need my basil and need my healing flowers of calendula, st johns wort, comfrey. I can not believe how much everything is these days. My God we used to just be able to go out & collect seeds & bring home to grow. I now also see how times have changed & no longer able to do that do roads have been built in the middle of our wild fields & now all wild crafting is contaminated. I am very happy that I now have plantain growing in my butterfly/Hummingbird garden as well as my herb garden with a huge dandelion plant.

July 2012
What a summer we are having! Garden hanging in there barely with heat wave. Not much in produce but tomatoes. Peas, Beans, Beets, strawberries are all barely producing. Even with us watering. I did create my echinacea tincture and now have peppermint going. Friend from work, Lynette make us soap & I will be giving her Lavender, chamomile & peppermint for her next batch & we get more soap. Vic & I are struggling for he doesn't seem to want to get a job. I have about had it but not sure what to do. Time will tell.
